LabApp

BS software development GmbH & Co. KG is the provider of LabApp. In this privacy policy, we inform you about the extent to which we collect, process or use your personal data when you use LabApp.

The protection of your personal data is very important to us when using our range of services. We comply with the relevant data protection regulations, in particular the provisions of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

LabApp enables the attending physician or medical support staff to retrieve in particular visualized laboratory values from patients at the laboratory (laboratory platform).

Data collection, processing or use

Registration is required to use the LabApp services. Before the first use, the respective end devices (smartphones or tablets) on which LabApp is to be used must be activated. The activation is done by the Windows application LabMessenger. This application can also be used to block end devices for further use of LabApp.

Data sent to the laboratory as part of the use of LabApp are:

- Designation of the respective terminal device (is defined individually in LabApp),
- unique identifier (GUID = Globally Unique Identifier) of the LabApp installation,
- instant messages transmitted to the lab via messenger function, if applicable.

In the event of certain findings (e.g., particularly critical laboratory values), it is also planned to use the push notification function to send alerts directly to the terminal device so that any necessary immediate measures can be initiated.

Data security

Technical and organizational security measures have been taken to protect personal data from unauthorized access. In addition to securing the operating environment, an encryption process is used when transporting data over the Internet (https).

The user account is protected with a password. The password can be chosen by the user himself. It is imperative that certain complexity criteria are met. Since particularly sensitive personal data of third parties is affected by the data use, the password must have a minimum length of ten characters consisting of a combination of upper and lower case letters, special characters and digits (e.g. "Es!P12fW?U").
